Edu Tech Self-Assessment 4/7
Collaboration, Annotation, Feedback
Tools
1. I can use collaborative document tools (such as Google Drive (Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides), and Office 365 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)) to create and collaborate on shared documents.
This is a strength of mine, I can and have used document tools, especially Google Drive, to collaborate with my fellow students. I have also used Office 365, mostly Word and for one project Powerpoint, to do the same.
For example, the following link is to a Google Slides presentation I made with my classmate, Alyssa: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1K5WCoHyjbYSd0FVnUS7iz9QdhtOYhqcJZVLNYu3YAQw/edit?usp=sharing.
EDIT AS OF 9/19/2020: Thanks again to Brooke for letting me know that the original link I was using did not work because I hadn’t set the permissions correctly!
2. I can use these tools to annotate and leave feedback on documents of various kinds.
This is a strength of mine. I know to leave comments, highlight sections, and correct grammar with different colored text on these documents.
3. I can use collaborative white board spaces such as Mural and Padlet to collaborate with others.
Prior to our first class I have never used Mural nor have I ever used Padlet before, making this skill a weakness of mine.
4. I can use collaborative annotation tools (such as Hypothes.is) to annotate and comment upon web pages and pdf files.
I have never used collaborative annotation tools such as Hypothes.is but it sounds very interesting and helpful. This is a skill I think I should improve upon soon because being able to annotate and leave feedback is an important part of both being an English teacher in general and the writing process specifically.
Teaching
1. I can effectively teach and support others to use this document, collaboration, and annotation tools in a learning context.
I would say that I can effectively teach and support others to use Google Drive and Office 365, but none of the other tools mentioned above since I do know not how to use them myself.
