Motivation and Engagement

1.     I understand how educational technologies can be used to support student participation, engagement, motivation, and learning.

 

      My first gut reaction is that if I thought about it, I could find ways that educational technologies can be used to support student participation, engagement, motivation, and learning. After pausing to reflect before writing my answer, I realized that being able to do it if pressed does mean that I understand it. In light of that declaration, I think that I need to learn more about the ways that student participation, engagement, motivation, and learning can be furthered by educational technologies. I suppose that I’m saying this is a weakness, and one that I think is high on my list of skills I need to improve.

 

2.     I am aware of the research that provides evidence for the connections between educational technology and student participation, engagement, motivation, and learning.

      I am not aware of this research, but I’m not surprised that such evidence of a connection exists.        

One Last Note: This seems strangely short as if I need to expand upon my points more; I’ve been told that brevity in writing is a skill I need to hone, so perhaps that’s why it feels weird.
